Leaders who rest on their laurels without making the effort to develop their skills will eventually be overtaken by those who view leadership as a professional skill to be developed and refined.
As we read year-end and best-of 2010 articles and watch the tribute shows, take a moment to try to add up the cumulative wealth of those being remembered. Making sound decisions is a skill set that needs to be developed like any other. By developing a qualitative and quantitative filtering mechanism for your decisioning process you can make better decisions in a shorter period of time. They make bad decisions. And in some cases they compound bad decision upon bad decision.
If you believe you possess a fully developed competency in a section give yourself 10 points. They understand the need for talent and are effective at recruiting, deployment, development and retention of tier-one talent. Want to find out?
