Talent is clearly a plus as long as it is a value add and not a business requirement. If your company’s long-term business plan requires the acquisition, or retention of the uber employee then your business not only has a risk management issue, but it is likely not scalable. First, you must do whatever must be done to produce the best long-term results for the company, regardless of how difficult it may be. Good advice.

Covey has garnered the loyalty and love of her students, something that she still evokes in my daughters even though they have long since left her classroom.

While there were clearly a few moments last week that I found instructionally valuable in terms of creating a game changer ( Nando Parrado ), there weren’t nearly enough of them. A lesson that I learned long ago is that you simply cannot experience sustainable improvement without transformation. It was a game changer!
