While this sounds simple enough at face value, I have consistently found that one of the most often overlooked leadership attributes is that of a positive attitude. If you struggle with recruiting, team building, and leadership development you likely have a bad attitude. The simple answer is that you can’t…it just won’t work.
The search results are less abundant if you google “songs about ethics.” The pattern of emphasizing economics over ethics plays out in many workplace practices and cultures. Options-motivated people will be more responsive to phrases such as: Let’s brainstorm our options for accomplishing this? As with all knowledge that enables you to be highly persuasive, you have a responsibility to apply this information ethically and with utmost integrity. Where should we start? Leadership requires a great deal of reflection in order to improve and change; yet we resist the idea of doing something that feels stagnant. Successful reflection, in my experience, follows the principles of brainstorming… write down the first things that come to mind. In a way, when we reflect, we fold back upon ourselves.
