A leader’s message has a direct impact on their personal and corporate brand equity, how they manage a crisis, marketing initiatives, investor relations, press and public relations, team building and employee engagement, and virtually any other mission critical area of chief executive responsibility.
Value and scarcity drive influence : Understanding the value of your position, brand, authority, resources, access to people or knowledge and any number of other items as it relates to fulfilling the needs and desires of others creates influence. Those with the most authority will always have the most influence.
If your CMO is making all of your brand decisions there will be h*ll to pay down the road. If your CFO handles all communications with your banking relationships, and your Chief Investment Officer handles all of your investor relations, you’re flat out missing the boat.
Leaders and non-leaders alike need career-pathing, training and development. In my opinion the practice of leadership identification is simply based upon flawed business logic, and it is make-work in the purest form. I’m a huge advocate of refining initiatives that allow any level of talent to be developed to the maximum potential.

Quite to the contrary; there are few things that require as much fluidity as effectively growing revenue, increasing profit and driving brand equity.
