Tomorrow night I will attend the awards ceremony for the Management Innovation Exchange’s HCI Human Capital M-Prize. John Fleming of Gallup, author Dan Pink, Vineet Nayar CEO of HCL Technologies and Suzanne Gordon of SAS Institute.
This was the focus of HCI’s 2012 Employee Engagement Conference where business leaders from NIKE, Warner Bros. Specifically, how do we go about fostering an engaged workforce when we have fewer resources, more competition, and need to accomplish more in less time. It’s a requirement.”
This was also the focus of last week’s HCI Learning and Leadership Development conference where leaders from a wide range of industries and backgrounds offered their viewpoints and experiences on learning, leadership and fostering growth in your organization. . ‘Focus on behaviours to change culture.
For instance, research from Penn State shows that male extroverts consider sites to be more interactive when sites allowed them to interact with the computer, which the researchers refer to as human-computer interaction (HCI). If developers know the kind of interactivity people want then it’s easier to provide that.

I have often wondered if it is time to reinvent the stages of team development (beyond Tuckman) to capture how we cultivate the connective energies and bind (in a good way) people together. This is the glue that brings and TIES people together. .
