Several years ago, while learning about TRIZ , I came across Nine Windows. I’ve used it several times with individuals, teams, departments, and organization development. Many of the Innovation Stuckness areas are natural biases that we use to make decisions and survive within our environment.
The engineers had statistics, charts, specifications for all sorts of things…and I was there to facilitate the team through Innovation Models to develop a solution to this vibrating screw. At the end of day 3 we were all losing patience and we felt it was hopeless…so I said f**k it and tried the following version of the Miracle Question.

Dimension Time Cost Operator (DTC) – A TRIZ tool for for seeing problems differently exploring ideas of extremes in size, time and cost. Of the 40 methods spelled out by the TRIZ approach, 8 involve what we would term scarcity.
