That’s one reason why Turkey’s GDP grew by 2.9% Syrians no longer feel as welcome as they did when the Turkish border first opened to give them safe harbor. The share of Syrian firms is much higher in Turkey’s southeast region, especially in Gaziantep, the main export hub to the Middle East and North Africa.
