We learn that humansneed to hear those simple words – “ You did a great job ”. Failure to Trust – When first taking on a leadership role, there’s always a strong “pull” to be involved in every decision, or to want to “sign off” on literally every dollar spent or contract signed.
There is a new definition of leadership in our lexicon. Let’s say you have the choice to make between choosing one person for a senior leadership role over another. Perhaps it’s because we still cling to the great man theory of leadership. What we need is a different measuring stick in our selection criteria.
Only 17% have confidence that leadership will improve in the upcoming year. Alain Hunkins, author of Cracking the Leadership Code , says “there is a path out of the muddle of mediocrity.
