The term “holarchy” made its debut in Ghost in the Machine , a analysis of the human brain and its failings penned by Arthur Koestler in 1967. On the flip side, critics point to the way human nature takes over when hierarchical structures of power disappear along with the titles that denote them. It’s not a new concept.
